Kathy and Mel are the heart behind Planting New Life Missions, an organization devoted to sharing God’s love internationally through short-term mission trips, biblical counseling, and Vacation Bible School programs.

Kathy’s passion for missions began when she was a young girl, sensing God’s call to serve beyond her own community. Over the years, that calling grew into a lifelong commitment to helping others encounter Christ through service, teaching, and compassion. With a deep love for people and a heart for global outreach, Kathy leads each trip with vision, faith, and joy.

By her side every step of the way is her husband, Mel — the steady backbone and unwavering support of the ministry. Mel brings strength, wisdom, and a servant’s heart, ensuring that every mission team has what they need to serve safely and effectively. Together, Kathy and Mel embody the spirit of teamwork, faith, and love that defines Planting New Life Missions.

Danielle Jones - Treasurer
Danielle serves as Treasurer on the board of Planting New Life Missions, where she blends her professional expertise with a heart for ministry. A Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Danielle brings over ten years of experience in auditing to help steward the organization’s financial health. More than numbers, her passion lies in sharing the love of Christ. As a committed follower of Jesus, she serves to help plant seeds of faith in youth around the world, supporting the mission to spread the gospel with grace and purpose.

Amber Johnson - Secretary
Amber and her family live in Northern Colorado where she has the joy of homeschooling their son! Her family loves going on outdoor adventures, and living in Colorado is the perfect place to ride bikes, camp, hike, and fish.
Amber is newer to being a Christian. The excruciatingly long journey to their son being born is ultimately what brought her to inviting Jesus into her heart and life. She had been thinking that God had to have a bigger plan for her life, a way to help and live out her purpose. While praying, the doors to becoming the secretary for Planting New Life Missions (PNLM) shot wide open! PNLM is a very important ministry that spreads the light of Jesus everywhere they go and to all the people they encounter.
Amber has really enjoyed seeing Kathy lead the PNLM teams on multiple mission trips. She’s excited you are here checking out the page and considering PNLM as a place that stays in your heart. Whether that is in donation, serving, or prayer, you being here is appreciated more than you know!!
